Modalities of Supporting African Cinematographic and Audiovisual Creation
As part of the Cannes Festival, Marine Schenfele, General Delegate of the CANAL+ Foundation, participated in the round table organized by the ACA, African Cultural Agency, at the African House on Friday, May 16. The discussion focused on the modalities of supporting African cinematographic and audiovisual creation.
The foundation was able to present its actions, particularly the CANAL+ University program deployed in sub-Saharan Africa, offering professional training in the fields of audiovisual and cinema.
The discussions were rich with high-quality speakers: Aïssa Diaby, director, Souleymane Kébé, CEO of SUNUY FILMS, Jean Roke Patoudem, producer and distributor, Oumar Sall, CEO of CINEKAP, and Laurent Sicouri, Director of Cinema and Series at CANAL+ Africa. The debate was prepared and moderated by Hisham Rami, journalist at Africultures.
The African continent is rich in talent, and all these actors are committed to developing an ecosystem conducive to their emergence on local and international stages.
