Orphée Brings a Special Day to Empire des Enfants

Visit and Cultural Activities at Empire des Enfants, a Care Center for Vulnerable Children in Dakar, Senegal

July 29 was a special day at Empire des Enfants. On the occasion of the visit of Audrey Richard, CANAL+ Chief Human Resources Officer and Board Member of the CANAL+ Foundation, a range of cultural and sports activities were organized for the children.

This day perfectly reflects the ambition of the Orphée program, implemented by the CANAL+ Foundation in 18 African countries and benefiting more than 11,000 children every year: enabling every child to access culture, entertainment, and moments of escape that are essential to their development.

In addition to providing essential supplies, the Foundation financed the refurbishment of the Orphée Room, a leisure space equipped with a television and a free subscription to CANAL+ channels. Because every child should have access to the high-quality educational and cultural content designed for them.

The Foundation also funded the acquisition of solar batteries to strengthen the center’s energy independence and improve the living conditions and care provided to the children.

And this is not a one-off initiative. The center had already benefited, in 2022, from the renovation of its facilities as well as several donations. The Foundation is committed to maintaining a long-term and lasting relationship with its partners, while supporting a recurring program of artistic and cultural activities, as well as opportunities for outings and discovery.

Empire des Enfants in Dakar, Senegal, is an organization dedicated to protecting and reintegrating vulnerable children. Through its reception center, it provides shelter and support to children who are lost, separated from their families, or victims of exploitation and abuse. Each year, between 250 and 300 children benefit from educational and psychosocial support, as well as activities that promote their social, family, and school reintegration.

At the end of her visit, Audrey Richard expressed her delight at meeting the children and highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the teams working at the center.
