Trust-Based Philanhropy

In March 2025, Diane Emdin spoke at a masterclass organized by LEPC (Les Entreprises pour la Cité) and the ESSEC Philanthropy Chair about the sponsorship approach implemented by the CANAL+ Foundation.
The appreciation of partners, listening to needs, co-construction, and balanced relationships are at the heart of this approach, which is based on six principles:
Multi-year and unrestricted funding,
Potential beneficiaries are sought out by sponsors, not the other way around,
Simplification and streamlining of administrative procedures,
A transparent and responsive attitude,
An action method based on feedback from associations,
And the provision of support that extends beyond funding.
